Torvosaurus tanneri nesting

£15.00 (Coming soon)

Nesting Torvosaurus tanneri, one of the biggest and most distinctive predators of Late Jurassic North America. The discovery of eggs and embryos of a Portugese Torvosaurus species (T. gurneyi) were the catalyst for this image, and the lizard-like style of the reclining animal is a nod to a Charles Knight-esque style of palaeoart. Knight's work might be dated scientifically, but he sure knew how to make his subjects seem alive.
